Managing flashbacks at night

If you experience flashbacks at night, try the following:

  1. Turn on the light and get out of bed
  2. Have a cool flannel by your bed - If you wake up in a cold sweat this can be helpful
  3. Use grounding techniques
  4. Use some relaxation exercises
  5. Follow the advice on managing sleep problems
Take things one step at a time. Give yourself credit for changes that you make and progress that occurs. These techniques all require perseverance and practice.
